About me

I was born in Plymouth, Devon in the UK.

I was the youngest of three boys and my family – though happy – had some pretty tough times of it. Money was pretty scarce but we enjoyed what we had. My mother had a series of illnesses throughout my childhood which put here in and out of hospital. My father was then left to work full time (and overtime)  to make things work.

At the age of about 12 I had a bought of viruses that left me clinically depressed. It took a long time to get through this.

When I was 16 I left school to earn myself a living. I trained as a draughtsman in the Construction Industry. I learned a lot about life during my time at Blight and White.

After discovering God at a local church (they had girls there) I felt the call to full time Christian ministry. I trained as a minister with the Methodist church and served in various places over the next 10 years.

In the meantime I got married to Alison and we have four lovely children.

I left the Methodist ministry to pursue other things and started my own successful business.

The opportunity came to train as a life coach. I now hold a certificate and diploma in life coaching and on top of this I took another diploma in productivity coaching and two more diplomas in stress management.

I am just an ordinary man who believes in the important of self improvement. This blog is all about how to do it. I guess I’m pretty intelligent (if IQ test are to be believed) but this doesn’t mean self improvement is easy. I’m constantly fighting the desire to slob around doing nothing.

If you are an ordinary person trying to find a way of making good in life then this is just where I am coming from.

Why not let me help?

I’ve spoken internationally on stress management and self improvement and am available for seminars and speaking engagements.
